6D Concrete Restoration Inc. (“6D”, “we”, “us”) is a concrete finishing company based in Calgary, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.6d-concrete.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can reach us about it. We handle personal information in line with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
When you request a quote. Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, project type, project size and a message describing your project. When you send the form, we also record the page you sent it from, your IP address and the result of our spam check.
When you browse the site. We do not use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our web server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested). We use these only to keep the site running and secure.
Why we collect it
We use the details you give us only to answer your quote request. That means contacting you, preparing an estimate and following up about your project. We do not use them for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list. By sending the form, you agree to our using your information for this purpose.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the website. They handle information on our behalf and only for the purposes below:
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES) delivers the email notification of your quote request to our team. AWS also hosts the website.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that form submissions come from a person, not an automated bot. It receives technical information about your browser and your IP address. Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not use cookies to track you.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces the site uses. Loading them sends your IP address to Google.
- YouTube (Google) plays the video on our home page. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube does not set cookies until you press play. Once you play the video, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
We may also disclose personal information where the law requires or allows it.
Where your information is stored
Some of these providers store or process information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be accessible to authorities in that country under that country’s laws.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests for 24 months after we last contact you about your project, then delete them. If you become a customer, we keep the records we need for the work, warranty and tax purposes for as long as the law requires.
How we protect it
Quote requests are stored in a private area of our website that only authorized 6D staff can access, behind a password-protected login. The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to our using it, although we may then be unable to prepare your quote. We will respond within the time PIPA allows (generally 45 days).
If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta at www.oipc.ab.ca.
